Date of Baptism: 17 September 1728
Place of Baptism: Whitehaven, Cumberland (St Nicholas)
The baptism is recorded in the parish register.
Date of Death: unknown.
Place of Death: unknown.
Relationships
Father: Samuel Lancaster.
This relationship is given in William’s baptism record.
Mother: unknown.
Spouse: Elizabeth Williams. Married 27 May 1751 or 19 February 1753.
Confusingly, the parish registers and bishop’s transcripts for St Nicholas, Whitehaven, record two separate marriages between people with these names. Another parish register transcription gives a third, on 27 October 1751.
Children:
(There is a possibility that more than one William Lancaster was having children baptized at St Nicholas in the period, as the dates of Susannah and Daniel are close together. All children below were baptized at St Nicholas, Whitehaven.)
Susannah Lancaster (baptized 14 October 1751)
Daniel Lancaster (baptized 9 December 1751)
Dorcas Lancaster (baptized 25 October 1752)
William Lancaster (baptized 13 March 1757 - buried 25 May 1757)
Samuel Lancaster (baptized 17 September 1758 - buried 12 December 1758)
Jane Lancaster (baptized 25 December 1759 - died 22 January 1840) married Isaac Hinde 1 July 1786 at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven, Cumberland.
Elizabeth Lancaster (buried 26 May 1764)
Isabel (Elizabeth) Lancaster (baptized 17 January 1765) married Thomas Nickson 21 August 1790 in Crosscanonby, Cumberland.
Mary Lancaster (baptized 12 July 1767) married Robert Hewitt 31 December 1791 in Crosscanonby, Cumberland
Samuel Lancaster (baptized 7 May 1774 - died 1853 in Cockermouth) married Susannah McKean 7 June 1800 in Crosscanonby, Cumberland. Stout gives his name as James, but the bishop’s transcripts give Samuel. (I have not seen the original register.)
