Sophie of Upper Lotharingia

Events

Date of Birth: about 1018.

Place of Birth: unknown.

Poull (p. 73) states that Sophie was aged about 75 at her death. Parisot (p. 168) argues that, although we don’t know the birth year of Sophie, the fact that the monk who wrote the chronicle of Saint-Mihiel between 1035 and 1040 called her and her sister puellae implies that they were not older than 12 then. Glocker (p. 340) gives about 1020 or 1025.

Date of Death: 21 January 1093.

The date is given by Poull (p. 73).

Place of Burial: the abbey church of Saint-Mihiel.

The place is given by Poull (p. 73).
