Place of Baptism: Burton Dassett, Warwickshire.

The entry is partly missing, but this seems to be the right date.


Date of Burial: 20 October 1680.

Place of Burial: Burton Dassett.

The burial is recorded in the parish register. The will of Mary Ledbrook, widow of Burton Dassett (made 1665, proved 1672) makes “my brother John Ledbrooke” one of the overseers. This was probably the John Ledbrook of this page.

John (junior) is named in his father’s will. John (senior) is named in his son's marriage settlement. Elizabeth is named in her marriage record.


Spouse: Mary Spicer. Marriage settlement dated 1 June 1618.

The will of Mary’s mother mentions her daughter Mary Ledbroke and her son in law John Ledbrook

Marriage Settlement for Mary Spyrer [should be “Spycer”] before her marriage to John Ledbrooke of property in Knightcote.


Date: 1 June 1618


Mary was the daughter of John Spyrer of Napton-on-the-hill, yeoman and John was the son and heir of John Ledbrooke of Knightcote, Burton Dassett, yeoman. The settlement trustees are Theophilus Grene of Rugby, gentleman, William Foster of Banbury, Oxfordshire, gentleman, and James Hally of Stocken, Warwickshire, yeoman. The property consists of 4 messuages and various closes of land in Knightcote and Northend. Property in exchange for dowry of £200.

Nathaniell the sonne of John Ledbroke and Mary his wife was baptised the second of November 1621


John Ledbrook the younger was buried the 5th day of June 1656
