In the name of God Amen The five and Twentith Daye of June Anno Domi 1640 I John Ledbroke of Knightcott in the County of Waricke yeomaae and with in the Diocese of Couentre and lichfeild, beinge thought somewhat weke in bodye, yet in sound and p[er]fecte memorie prayesed be God doe make and ordayne this my last will and Testement in manere and forme follwinge furst I Commend my sole into the hands of almighteye god, hopinge assuredly to be saued by the onely merites of Jesus pxrti my most mercyfull redemere, and my bodye to the yearth to be burryed wth in the Curch of Burton at the descrecion of my executrix here aftere named And for the Small portion of this worldly welth which I have, not formerley imp[ar]ted with all to my Children, I despose as followeth, Item I give to the Church of Burton ales Burton, Dasset Tenne shillinges. Item I give to the pore pople of the sayed parish of Burtone Dassett Forteye shillinges to bee Distributed amongst them by the discretion of my executrix and ouerseer Itume I give to that minester who shall happen to preche my funerall sarmon Tene shillinges Itum I give and bequeath to all my grand Children, Twenty Shilinges a pese, To bee paye by my executrix with in one yere nexte after my Decese: Itume I give and bequeath to my grandsone John Ledbrooke my Joyned standen bedsted, and a truckell bestede in my Chamber and the great playned Chest standinge within my chambere a Joyne chere with a spitt a pece of  cobbiron a pece of belose and my Bible Provided that my wife shall have the yuse of them Duringe her live Itume I give to my grand sune nathanell Ledbrooke my truncke after my nineste[?] Desese. Itum I give Jonathan Ledbrooke my grand sone my okene Coffer After my nineste Desese Itum I give to Elezabeth Ledbrooke my grand Daughter a Joynd cupboard standinge in my parlore. Itume. I give to my sonne John Ledbrooke all the talles[?] in my worke house to be left by since to his sone John Ledbrooke  Itum I give to my sonne John Ledbrookes five saruuntes xij d a pese And my will is that in regard my wife is content and well plesed to accept of hur Chambere, and not to trubble hur selfe with the land: after my desese that my sone John shall Haye to my sayed wife, duringe hure life euerye yere Fyteene pounds of Currant muney a halfe yerley as it wase payed be fore, and hur dieatt with washinge Five and othere necessarey for a woman of such stat and age, or if shee doe or shall Dislike of hur diatt, and be Desposed to provide for hur selfe fore or else where then hee shall pay my sayed wife twentey pound by yer halfe yerly as before All the rest of my goods not for and ly disposed of my dets and legasies and funerall appor Expencese payed I give and bequeth to Elizabeth my wife whome I apouint and ordayne my whole Executrix of this my last will and testament, and I doe intreat my louinge nebours Richard Ladbrooke and Robert Durram to be my overseres to see the Due execution of this my will In wittness whereof I have here to Set my hand and sele the day and yere aboue sayed
