Symon de Tufton

Brydges/Collins (3:438) and Pocock (p. 14) state that Symon was living with his wife Joan in Northiam in 1388/9. Brydges states that Symon was “probably lineally descended from that Roger de Toketon who married Julian, sister of Sir John de Chaumpaine.” Simon Tukton appears as a witness in documents from the late 1300s that appear in the East Sussex Archive catalogue (FREE 6910, FRE 7000).
