Cynwrig Sais ab Ithel Fychan ab Ithel Llwyd

Carr (1979, pp. 141-143; 2003, pp. 63 ff) relates how Cynwrig paid for the offices of rhaglaw and escheator of Englefield in 1336-1339 and proceeded to abuse the power that came with them.

This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Edwin 14; Edwin 15), and given by Carr (1979, p. 141) and by Davies (p. 156 fn 24), citing “the splendid collection of deeds of the family at Bangor.”

Mother: uncertain.

Bartram does not specify that Cynwrig’s mother was (who he regards as) Ithel Fychan’s known wife, Margaret, the daughter of Sir Hugh Brickill.

Spouse: Margery.
