Relationships

Father: Toirrdelbach.

This relationship is given by Baldwin (LaI) and by Jaski (p. 134). It is recorded in Genealogies from Rawlinson B502 (¶1272, ¶1359). Baldwin states that the “ancestry of the main branch of the Dál Cais can be accepted without much hesitation back to this individual, after whom the branch was named.” Prior to that, sources differ. Jaski (p. 134) gives the line as Toirdelbach, son of Cathal, son of Aithirne, son of Aed, son of Conall Cáem, son of Echu Bailderg, son of Carthend Finn, son of Blat.

Mother: unknown.
