Commentary

The only Fugall family with a definite connection to Goxhill that I have located is that of Christopher Fugill and Bridget Booth. They were married at Goxhill in 1668 and Bridget’s family was from Goxhill. Christopher was vicar at Barrow upon Humber. He was born in about 1618, and this was his second marriage. Bridget was a spinster, but probably about 43 years old. There are no baptism records of any children from this marriage, and Christopher does not mention any children in his will. Bridget remarried after Christopher’s death in 1680.

Christopher’s family came from nearby Hessle, Yorkshire, where there were a number of other Fugall families in the neighbourhood.
