Albert, count of Vermandois, and Gerberga of Lorraine have been suggested as parents, from a deduction based on vague comments about Otto’s ancestry in a source that Laret-Kayer regards as of dubious reliability. Laret-Kayser rejects the identification of Otto of Warcq with Otto, count of Ivois.
