John’s will:


In the name of God Amen The Twelfth day of May Anno Dmi One Thousand six hundred ninety three and in the Fifth year of the reignes of our Sovereignes Lord and Lady William and Mary by the grace of God King and Queen of England etc I John Bishopp of the Forrest of Wyer in the p[ar]ish of Cleobury Mortimer in the County of Salop and Diocess of Hereford yeoman being of sound and p[er]fect mind and Memory blessed be Almighty God therefore doe make Constitute and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in writeing as followeth (viz) First I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God my maker firemley trusting through the Meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Lord and Savious to be Saved and my body to be buried in Christian burial according to the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and with what worldly Estate and Goods it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow on me and bless me with I give the same to my relations and friends Item I give and bequeath to my Son Francis Bishopp a Table board in the Parlor a Furnace a wring to make Cydder with all the appertenances thereunto belonging Provided, that he shall suffer Thomason my wife and George Bishopp one of my sons to make all the syder cherry[?] and Verjuice[?] that they or either of them have to make without any manner of interruption at their Convenient times I likewise give unto the said Francis Five shillings and Five shillings to his wife to be paid to them within one year after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my son John Bishopp Three pounds in money and a silver Cupp to be paid to him within one year after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my Son William Bishop Five pounds to be paid to him within one year after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Bishopp Five pounds in money and Cauters Tenement with all and singular the appertences thereunto belonging the money to be paid within one year next after my decease Butt my will is that he shall not have the said Tenement untill after the death of Tomason my said wife and that then he shall pay out thereof Ten pounds to my son George Bishopp within one year after my the decease of Tomason my said wife Item I give and bequeath to James Bishopp my son all my Free lands and the reversions thereof in the Borough of Cleobury Mortimer he paying to his brother my said son John Bishopp twenty pounds out thereof within one year next after my decease Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah Twenty pounds to my said son Francis his three children John Francis and Mary Ten shillings apeece to my daughter Mary Edwards Ten shillings and to her three Children William Tomason and Margarett Twenty shillings to be equally divided and to my daughter Elizabeth Bishopp her four Children William Richard Elizabeth and Tomason Ten shilllings to be equally divided and my will is that all my last said Legacies shall be paid within one year next after my decease Item I leave Five pounds for my Funeral expences and my Will is that my daughter Mary Edwards shall have Ten shillings my said son William Five pounds my said son George Fifteen pounds and my said son James Five pounds more than what is afore bequeathed to be paid to them and either of them within one year next after my decease Item all my Implements of husbandry and Tooles I give and bequeath to my two said sons Thomas and George to be equally divided between them Item all the rest of my goodes Cattle and Chattle I give to my dear wife Tomasin She paying my debts Legacies and Funeral expences and who I make no[m]i[n]ate and appoint Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament Lastly I desire my loveing friends John Hodgetts and William Bishopp to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament to whom I give and bequeath one shilling severally to buy either of them a pair of Gloves John Bishopp his mark. Sealed and delivered being first published in the presence of us Tho: Hart Jo Hodgetts Will Hart ./.
