This relationship is given by Oram and by PoMS, no. 451. Stringer (p. 104) states that one of Roger's daughters was "evidently" Alan's first wife. The Complete Peerage (12/2:753) states that Helen was the daughter of the first wife of Alan, without stating who that was. Some sources give Alan’s first wife as a daughter of Reginald, Lord of the Isles.


Spouse: Margaret, daughter of David, earl of Huntingdon. Married 1209.
