It is uncertain which of Owain’s wives was Gruffudd’s mother.

This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Bleddyn ap Cynfyn 26). Lloyd (6:17) suggests that Janet was of the family of the William de Say who was a son of Beatrice de Mandeville, but I don't know what evidence he was using.
