Relationships

Father: Hugues VIIIa de Lusignan.

The relationship is given by Painter (p. 378) and by van Eickels. The odd numbering is due to the discovery of Hugues VIIIa after the conventional numbering had already been much used to refer to the other Hugues de Lusignans in secondary literature.

Mother: Orengarde.

The relationship is given by van Eickels.

(probable) Spouse: Agatha de Preuilly.

Painter (p. 379) states that Hugh X must have born by a previous wife to Mathilde. In a discussion on soc.genealogy.medieval, Peter Stewart notes that Europäische Stammtafeln (which I have not checked) notes that "Agatha's son by Bernard de Brosse, Vicomte Gerard V, was recorded as "frater" to "Hugues X [de Lusignan] Cte de la Marche" and that the latter was known in 1204 as "nepos" to Agatha's father Pierre II de Montrabel, seigneur of Preuilly." Cawley cites a charter giving Gerard's mother as Agatha de Preuilly. Van Eickels gives this relationsihp.

Spouse: Mathilde d’Angoulême.

This relationship is given by père Anselme (3:78), by van Eickels, and by Painter (p. 376).

Children:

Hugues X “le Brun” (died 1249), count of La Marche, married Isabelle d’Angoulême.
