Date of Burial: 24 October 1694.

Place of Burial:St Clement Danes, Westminster.

This burial is recorded in the parish register ( "Elizabeth Byne. W").


Relationships


Father: William Scrase (about 1620 - 1683).

Mother: Frances Valiant (died 1681).

These parents are given by Renshaw (p. 70). They are also given by the 1662 Visitation of Sussex (p. 97).


Spouse: Henry Byne (1646 - 1688).

Renshaw (p. 71) cites evidence from court records that Elizabeth Scrase was Henry’s wife. He also notes (p. 70 fn) that Elizabeth’s brother, William Scrase, refers to her as “my sister Byne” in his will.


Children:


Frances Byne (baptized 6 April 1671 - died about January 1726) married Edmund Nugent 7 Nov 1687, Knightsbridge (Holy Trinity).

On 20 October, 1659, Elizabeth Scrase then aged 7 was admitted to copyholds of the manor of Beeding, and her husband Henry Byne was admitted to the same 14 September, 1671. At a Court holden 2 June, 1702, it was presented that Henry Byne and Elizabeth his wife were both dead, and that Frances Nugent widow was their only daughter, and she then surrendered these copyholds to her uncle William Scrase of Steyning.
