This relationship is given by the Lancashire VCH (Vol. 5, sub Little, Middle and Over Hulton).

Mother: unknown.

Spouse: Katherine Harrington.

This relationship is given by the Lancashire VCH (Vol. 5, sub Little, Middle and Over Hulton), which states that Katherine was a daughter of Sir James Harrington of Wolfage. This seems to be chronologically impossible: a dispensation was issued in 1469 for the marriage of Roger Hulton and Katherine Harrington, as Roger and Katherine were related in the fourth degree; the 1519 inquisition post mortem of Sir James Harrington's wife gives Katherine's age then as 33. (It is incorrectly transcribed elsewhere as 52.) Therefore the daughter of Sir James Harrington was born about 1486, and must be someone else.
