The death is recorded in Brut y Tywysogion s.a. 1268: “In the ensuing year died Gronowy, son of Ednyved, steward of the prince’s household, on the eve of St Luke the Evangelist, a man illustrious in arms, and generous in gifts, wise in council, and upright in deed, and humorous in words…”
