Commentary
Andrew’s parentage:
The Andrew Brees of this page had most of his children baptized in Trefeglwys and was buried there. He was married in 1710. The only baptism in indexes that is consistent with this time and place is that recorded in in the Trefeglwys register 25 January 1685/6. The name of the father for that baptism is Andrew.
In his 1707 will, Andrew Brees, yeoman of Trefeglwys, named his eldest son and heir Andrew Brees.
The evidence is good enough to establish that the father of the Andrew of this page was also named Andrew.
I will refer to the elder Andrew as AndrewA and the younger Andrew as AndrewB.
Shortly before AndrewA ‘s first child was baptized 23 December 1684 at Trefeglwys, an Andrew married Bridget Swancott 27 May 1683 in nearby Llanidloes. AndrewA, in his 1707 will, named his wife, “Bridgiard”.
The evidence is good enough to establish that the mother of the Andrew of this page was Bridget Swancott.
