Margaret Murray for the sin of adultery with Thomas MacDonald having been the second time rebuked by the Moderator was ordered to attend the session again on Sabbath the 7. day of August next.
having acknowledged that her marriage with George Jamieson had been irregular there having been no previous proclamation of banns in the parish church of Peebles within the bounds of which parish they were residens at the time of their marriage – the session appoint them both to appear before them on the said 7. day of August next in order to be rebuked for this irregularity of conduct and to have their marriage confirmed & recorded.

Compeared also Jean Campbell wife of Thomas Mac donald dyker Old town soliciting the privilege of Baptism for the two youngest of her children as her husband was lying under the scandal of Adultery with Margaret Murray (vid. Min. Jul 10) craving to be admitted as sponsor on their behalf. After having been examined touching her knowledge of the Ordinance & found qualified she was admitted to take the Baptismal vows & her children were baptized in presence of the Kirk. session.
