The dates are given by Crouch (p. 254). Philip's son Gerald did homage for his lands in 1229 (Close Rolls 1227-1231, p. 208).
Relationships
Father: Maurice de Prendergast.
This relationship is given by Orpen (1:391), who states (1:148) that Maurice came from the district of Rhos in Pembrokeshire and that “[i]n all probability he was one of the principal Flemish settlers there.” Orpen notes (1:165) that in the Song of Dermot (1056-1151) “The character of this man...is that of a chivalrous warrior who would keep his word even with an enemy.” Crouch (p. 254) states that Philip was son and heir of Maurice.
Mother: unknown.
Spouse: Maud de Quency.
This relationship is given by Orpen (1:391). It is recorded in a contemporary deed recorded in 1595 and translated in the Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland (n.s. v.5, pp. 147-148 note).
Children:
Gerald de Prendergast (died 1251) married (1) the sister of Theobald Butler; married (2) a daughter of Richard de Burgh.
