The date is given by Bartrum (EVWG [20]) and by Lloyd (1:262). The death of “Morgetiud rex Demetorum” is recorded in Annales Cambriæ (Williams p. 11) under the year 796. (Baldwin (LaI) notes that it is generally recognized as the earliest contemporary entry in the annals.) Brut y Tywysogion (Williams pp. 8-9) records the death of “Maredudd, king of Dyfed” in 796.
