Relationships

Father: Hugues (I), count of Meulan.

This relationship is given by Depoin (p. 307), by Bauduin, and by Herrick (although her chart on p. 85 has a misplaced line). Cawley states that Hugues was the son of Galeran (Waleran), who was the son of another Galeran.

Mother: Alix, sister (or possibly daughter) of Count Walter II the White of the Vexin.

This relationship is given by Herrick (p. 86).

Spouse: Oda. Probably married about 1017.

This relationship is given by Depoin (p. 311), by Bauduin, and by Herrick (p. 85, p. 88). Oda had died by 1033. Herrick notes that "In the world of internet genealogy, Oda is reputed to have been the sister of Herluin de Conteville, stepfather of William the Conqueror, although no evidence from contemporary source supports this identification. Oda's background instead remains entirely obscure, and too little is known of Herluin's family to shed light on the matter. Certainly, Waleran and his children frequented the Norman court, but a connection to the Conqueror's mother and half-brothers is not necessarily at the root of this tendency."

Spouse: Adelais. Married by 1033.

This relationship is given by Depoin (p. 311), by Bauduin, and by Herrick (p. 85).

Children (by Oda):
