In the entry for James’s 1746 marriage in the St Ninians parish register, James was stated to be the lawful son of “Alexr Henderson Indweller in the parish of Alloa”. Only one plausible baptism appears in indexes, in Alloa in 1717 (parents Alexander Henderson and Christian Jamison).
