Mavis E. Mate, discussing the subsidies of 1524-1525, mentions a man who is presumably the Robert Chalcroft of this page:

Detailed information from from Battle shows that many families were multi-occupational. Robert Chalcroft (goods £6) was frequently presented as baker and ale-brewer, although he belonged to the household staff of the abbey. In addition, in 1522 he served as one of the coroners in the liberty of Battle.

The entry from the lay subsidy rolls for Sussex is here.
