In the name of god amen the Thirtith daye of Marche in the Nynetenth yeare of the reigne of or Sovereigne Ladye Elizabeth by the Grace of god Quene of England France and Ireland defender of the Faith &c I John Cole of Belbroughton in the County of Worcester yoman being sick in bodie and neverthelesse of good and perfecte memorie thanks be gyven to Almightie god doo make and ordeine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge First and most chieflie above all other things I gyve and bequeathe my Sowle unto almightie god my maker and Redemer in and by whose deathe & passion and precious bloud sheddinge I trust to have remission and forgyvenes of all my synnes my bodye to be buried in Chr’en buriall by the discretion of myne Executrixe And as touchinge my wordlie gooddes which god hath endowed me withall I yeld and render them unto the woldge ageyne to be distributed as hereafter followeth In primis I gyve and bequeathe unto Gilbert Cole my sonne the Lease of my Farme called the Morehall bell als the Moremyll with the Apprtenances duringe the terme of the whole yeares therein conteyned yet to come and unexpired And yf it fortune the said Gilbert to deceasse at any tyme before the expiracion thereof having no yssue of his bodie laufullie begotten Then my will is that Anthony Cole my sonne shall have and enioye the yeares then to come and unexpired in the same Lease And after his deceasse having no yssue of his bodye lawfullie begotten to remaine amongest the Sisters of the saide Anthonye equallie Also my will is that Johan my wieff shall enioye & occupie the one half of the saide Farme during her lieff remaynyng sole and unmaried and also to occupie the hole ferm untill the sayd Gilbert be at the age of xvjen yeres The said Johan payinge therefore yearelie unto the saide Gilberte or to som[m]e other of this frendes to his use and behoof the som[m]e of Eleaven poundes sixe shillinges eighte pence for everye yeare untill the saide Gilbert be of thage of Sixtene yeares as is aforesaid:/ And then the saide Gilberte to enter uppone the one half of the saide Ferme and to enioy the same paying the one half of all Chardges goying yearelie oute of the premisses Also I gyve and bequeathe unto Anthonie Cole my sonne the Free Lande in Broughton with all the residue of the yeares yet to come in the Lease of the Mylles called Waldrens Myll and Pachetts Myll And also the full state and title of the Lease of the lordshippe of Chaddeswiche with the apprtenances during the yeares therein conteyned/ my saide wieff having thoccupacon of all the premisses untill the saide Anthonye doo come and be of thage of eightene yeares making no spoyle or wilfull wast thereuppon And yf it Fortune the saide Anthonye to deceasse at anye tyme before the yeares of the saide leasses be expired havinge no yssue of his bodye laufullie begotten Then my will is that the state of the Free Lands Together with the Leases shall remaine unto Gilbert my sonne and to the heires of his bodye laufullie begotten And for lack of suche issue to remayne amongest the Sisters of the saide Gilbert and Anthonye forever Item I gyve and bequeath to my saide wieff the leasse of Chaddiswiche Farme wholie during her lyeff And after her deceasse To Remaine wholie to John Lynehole Item I gyve and bequeathe to the said Johan my wieff the state of the wood lease duringe her naturall lyef and after her deceasse to Remayne to the same John oute of the whichsaide wood lease my will is that the said Johan my wieff and the saide John Lynehole shall paye unto Thomas Lynehold her sonne and his Brother the som[m]e of Fyftie poundes whereof the saide Johan my wieff shall paye to the saide Thomas thirtie poundes in manner and forme followinge viz Twentie poundes within one quarter of a yere after his apprentishippe is endid and the other tenne poundes to be paide to the saide Thomas by the saide Johan within twoo yeares nexte after my deceasse beinge Laufullie demanded And yf the saide Thomas happen to deceasse before he hath fullie receyved the full payments of this my request Than then that parte so remaynynge unpaid and unreceyved to remaine among the naturall Sisters of the said Thomas equallie to be devided:/ Item I gyve and bequeathe to my three Daughters viz Rose Jane and Johan Fyftie poundes to everye of them when they shall come and be of thage of Nynetene yeares being ordered and ruled by the advised counseill of three of their uncles viz Henrie Waldron Richard Guye and William Ellotts and also by Henrie James gent otherwise She or they so refusinge to be ordered & ruled to have to her or their partes but twentie poundes a pece And yf it fortune anye of my saide three daughters to deceasse before they have receyved their partes so limited That then that which remaineth unpaide to remayne amongest the rest remaynynge alyve Item my will is that my saide wieff shall fynde and kepe uppon this saide lyving Henrie Cole with meate drinck and apparrell conveniente during his naturall lieff the said Henrie laboringe as he is hable Item I gyve and bequeath to the twoo daughters of John Lynehole deceassed viz Margarett and Anne twentie poundes to eche of them Item I gyve to Alexander Cole twentie shillings. Item I gyve to everie of my Godchildren twelve pence a pece Item my will is that my sonne Anthony shall Seale a Leasse unto William Smyth grynder in for and uppon that howse & percell of grounds wherein he nowe dwelleth for three lyves when the saide Anthonye shall come and be of thage of one and twentie yeares and also com[m]en for tenne sheepe in the com[m]en Feilds there payinge therefore yearelie unto the saide Anthonye the som[m]e of thirtene shillings fowre pence sterlinge as by the Counseill lerned of the saide William Smith shalbe devysed Item I gyve to the Reparacions of the Churche of Broughton tenne Shillinges Item I gyve and bequeathe to Robert Tellett Sixe shillinges eighte pence Item I gyve and bequeathe to Izabell Bradleye twooe shillinges Item I gyve unto my Sister Rose twentie Shillinges and to her Children twentie Shillinges equallie to be devided amongest them Item I gyve unto Henrie Cole twoo Ewes with theire Lambes Alse yf there fortune to aryse any doubte or ambiguiteie in this my last will and Testament at any tyme before it be fully p[er]formed Then what casuall doubts so ever be to be discussed by Henrye James William Ellotts Henrie Wardren and Richard Guy gyving to everie of them for their paines Fyve shillinges All the residue of my Gooddes Moveable & unmoveable not before gyven and bequeathed my debtes paide and my Funeralls dischardged I gyve and bequeath wholie to Johan my wieff whom I make my sole executrix of this my last will and testament wittnesses hereunto viz Henrie Jmes William Ellotts Henrye Waldren Richarde Guye Richarde Waldren William Cole John Taylor and William Penne

Lease for 80 years from Sir Thomas Milward of Eaton, Derby, knt. and Abigail Packington, widow of Humphrey Packington of Chaddesley Corbett, Worcs. esq. deceased to Sir Richard Shoughborrough of Shuckburgh, Warws. knt. of the manor of Moor Hall with a messuage, farm and mills belonging to the same in Belbroughton, late in the tenure of Gilbert Cole, the capital messuage in Harvington in the tenure of the said Abigail, Harvington Heath in Chaddesley Corbett, a messuage called Swancott and other lands (described) in Chaddesley Corbett, and messuages and lands in Belbroughton, Droitwich, and Chaddesley Corbett.
