Helsby (Ormerod 3:577) and Earwaker (2:602) state that John was 28 in 2 Henry 5 (the year of his father’s death). But Baines (5:81) gives his age this year as 24.

The date is given by the Complete Peerage (12/1:250), citing John’s inquisition post mortem.

This relationship is given by Ormerod (3:577) and by the History of Parliament. The Complete Peerage (12/1:250) states that John “is said to have” married Isabel, noting that Dugdale’s authority for this was the family pedigree.
