Isaac’s baptism record gives his mother’s name as Martha. Her surname is given in a marriage bond.


Spouse: Jane Lancaster. Married 1 July 1786 in Whitehaven (Holy Trinity).

The marriage is given in the bishop’s transcripts to the parish register.

Samuel Hinde (baptized 1 October 1795 at St Nicholas, Whitehaven - died at sea December 1836) married Mary Kennedy 17 November 1817 at St James’, Whitehaven.


Jane Hinde (born 24 May 1809). Jane was probably the daughter of Isaac's daughter Elizabeth (See Jane Lancaster's page for commentary.)

Isaac’s will:


This is the last Will and Testament of me Isaac Hind of Liverpool in the County Palatine of Lancaaster Mariner. In the first place I order and direct all my just Debts to be paid off and discharged and subject thereto I give devise and bequeath to my dear Wife Jane all that my Messuage or Dwelling House situate in Wolf Street Toxteth Park and also my Household Furniture and all and every my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever To hold the same to her my said Wife her Heirs Executors, admininistrators and assigns for ever And in Case I shall happen to survive my said Wife I do in that Event give devise and bequeath the said messuage or dwelling House with the appurtenances and also all my said peronal Estate unto & equally amongst my three Children Elizabeth Isaac and Samuel To hold the same to them my said three Children their respective Heirs Executors administrators & assigns for ever Share and Share alike as Tenants in Common and lastly I do hereby appoint my said Wife if she be living at my Decease Executrix of this my Will but if she be then dead I do in that Case appoint my said Daughter and Sons Executrix and Executors of this which I declare to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by my made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this twenty ninth day of April inthe fifty third year of the Reign of George the third of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen
