Commentary
Hester’s parentage:
In his 1693 will, Giles Jerman of Llandinam names his daughter Esther and his wife Mary.
In his 1664 will, Humphrey Brinton of Trefeglwys names Mary the wife of Giles Jarman. The will does not specify Mary’s relationship to Humphrey, but she is named between a daughter and a son of Humphrey, and Mary’s baptism to Humphrey appears in the Trefeglwys register.
The evidence that Hester’s parents were Giles Jarman and Mary Breynton is good enough.
