Father: Richard Bridger.

In his 1553 will, Richard Bridger of Warminghurst left property at Ashington to his son John and his heirs. The inquisition post mortem of John's son Richard mentions property at Ashington.

Mother: Joan.

Richard Bridger mentions his wife Joan in his will. Joan mentions her son John in her will.


Spouse: Alice Steere (died 1561).

The 1634 Visitation of Sussex (p. 156) gives John’s wife’s name as “....d. of ….Steere of Ockley in com. Surrey.” Her burial record gives her first name as Alice.
