In the name of god amen the First day of January In the five and Twentieth yeare of the Raigne of our Sou[er]aigne Lord Charles the second now kinge of England etc Annoque d’ni 1673 I Susannah Cleaver of Hellidon in the County of Northampton widdow beinge in health of body and of sound and p[er]fect minde and memory praised by allmightie god for the same and knoweinge the uncertainety of this life on earth and beinge desirous to setle thinges in order doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followeing (that is to say) First and principally I comitt my soule into the hands of allmightie god that gave it unto me and as for my worldly estate as the Lord in mercie hath lent me I give will devise and dispose the same as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my eldest sonne Edward Cleaver the bedd whereon he usually lyeth with the furniture thereunto belongeing And my table and Franid[?] and forme in the Hall and all other furniture usually belongeinge to the Hall and therein Comonly used my furnache and malt mill and my cubberd in the milk house my best pott and one litle ketle and that pewter his name is on and one halfe hogeshead and a litle ferkin one Coule and a [..aild] And as Touchinge all the rest of any houshold goods whatsoever (be the same more or lesse) I give and bequeath the same unto Thomas Cleaver and William Cleaver my two youngest sonnes to be equally devided betwext them share and share alike Item I give unto my kinswoman Elizabeth Workman halfe my wareinge apparell and the other halfe of them I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Makepeace and to be devided at the discreation of my said daughter And as for touchinge and concerneinge my halfe yard Land with the appurtenances lyeing and beinge within the p[ar]ish and p[re]cincth of Nether Shukburgh in the County of Warrwicke (but subiect to the payments herinafter menconed I give will and devise the same unto Thomas Cleaver my second son his heires and assignes forever and my said sonne Thomas Cleaver payeinge out of the same payeinge unto my youngest sonne William Cleaver Fiftie pounds out of my said halfe yard land at such time as he shall attayne his full Age of one and Twentie yeares And Tenn pound more I give unto my said sonne William Cleaver to sett him to a trade the same as he shall be capable to be sett forth and to help to buy him Cloathes withall, but in case hee shall not goe to prentice to some trade as aforesaid then the said Tenn pounds shalbe paid unto him his said Age of one and Twentie yeares out of my land aforesaid Item I give more out of my said halfe yard land unto Richard Makepeace my granchild and god sonne Tenn pounds to be paid unto him when he shall attayne his full age of one and Twentie yeares but if it happen the said Richard dye before his said legacie of Tenn pounds shalbe come due and payable as aforesaid Then the said tenn pounds shalbe paid unto Elizabeth Makepeace my daughter to give and dispose the same amongst her other Children if shee shall have any then liveninge but if shee have noe Child or Children then liveinge then the said Tenn pound not to be paid Item I give more unto my said kinswoman Elizabeth Workeman Twentie shillinges in money All the rest of my goods and substance whatsoever not hereinbefore bequeathed or given away my debts beinge paid and funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath the same unto my aforesaid sonne Thomas Cleaver whome I make my full and sole executor of this my last will and Testament In witnes whereof I the said Susanna Cleaver have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written:
