Commentary
Mary’s parentage
Mary was married in 1733 in Moresby. The marriage bond described her as being of Parton in the parish of Moresby. Only one Mary Harrison was baptized in Moresby in the relevant time period, in 1712 (father John Harrison). There is additional evidence that this is the correct baptism: John Harrison of Parton, carpenter, in his 1729 will, made a bequest to his daughter Mary Harrison.
