Woodger says that this relationship is “likely”. Martin (p. 229) gives Sir Roger Burley, a brother of Sir Simon Burley. 

Mother: unknown.

Presumably she was a Burnell.


Uncle: John Burnell of Westbury, Salop.

This relationship is given by Woodger. John Burley was coheir with William Spenser, also a nephew.


Brothers: Nicholas Burley, James Burley, Edmund Burley.

These relationships are given in the quitclaim cited below.


Spouse: Juliana. Married by 1397.

This relationship is given by Woodger. Owen and Blakeway (2:139) state that Juliana was a daughter of Reginald, Lord Grey of Ruthin, but Woodger states that “no evidence has been found to support this statement.
