Relationships

(probable) Father: Heribert I, count of Vermandois.

This relationship is given by père Anselme (1:49), by Lewis (p. 10), by Settipani (1993, p. 222), and by most other secondary sources. Baldwin notes that contemporary documentation for the relationship apparently does not exist, but that it is nevertheless very probable. He further states that, in the unlikely case that Heribert I was not in fact Heribert II’s father, then Heribert II’s father was almost certainly one of Heribert I’s brothers.

Mother: unknown.

Spouse: a daughter of Robert I, king of France.

This relationship is given by Baldwin, by Settipani (2012), and by Lewis (p. 10). Settipani (1993, p. 225) argues that her name was Adela. Lewis (p. 11) also gives this name.
