Commentary
Margaret’s parentage
Margaret’s marriage licence records her as Margaret Wroe, spinster, parish of Manchester.
In his 1660 will, Edward Wroe of Newton in the parish of Manchester, yeoman, named his daughter Margaret Heape, his son in law Thomas Heape, and their children Richard Heape, Edward Heape, Thomas Heape, Mary Heape, and Alice Heape.
The 1640 will of Edwards’s brother Robert names Robert’s wife Marie. The 1616 marriage of Edward Wroe and Mary Holland is recorded in the Manchester cathedral register. Edward’s will mentions his “kinsman” Mr Thomas Holland and his “cousin” George Holland.
