In the name of God Amen the Fifte day of January in the Sixeteenth yeare of the raigne of our most gracious Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland Defend’r of the faith &c. 1664 I Harry Barrowe thelder of Golborne in the County of Lanc’tr yeoman takeinge into serious consideracon the certenty of death and the incertenty of the tyme thereof and beinge [...] good and p[er]fecte memory doe make and ordaine this my last will and testamt in manner and forme followeinge First and principally, I comend and comitt my soule into the hands of Almighty God my onely maker trusting and stedfastly beleavinge in and by the merritts of Jesus Christ my alone Saviour and Redeemer to bee made p[ar]taker of everlastinge happines and for my body my will and mynd is to have the same interred with Christian solemymizacon att my Parish Church of Winwicke withe in the Buriall place belonginge to mee and my Ancestors att the discretion of my exors hereafter named And for those worldy goods and estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to blesse mee with my will and mynd is to have the same disposed of in manner and forme followeinge And first I doe hereby give grante bequeath and assigne All that my Messuage and Tenemt and all the Lands and premisses whatsoever with thapprtenances scituate lyinge & beinge in Golborne aforesaid and wherein I doe now dwell and all my estate [...] anything at tythe and interest therein from and imediatly after my decease unto Henry Barrowe my eldest sonne and his assignes for and duringe all my Tearme therein Secondly my will and mynd ist that my debts legacies and Funerall expences shalbee paid and satisfied out of my whole p[er]sonall estate and after those are paid and discharged my will and mynd is to have the remainder thereof disposed of in manner and forme followinge vizt whereas I did heretofore give and bestowe upon and unto Thomas Seddon my sonne in law to and for the marriage porcon of Elizabeth my daughter and nowe his wife the full and iust sume of One hundred pounds therefore my will and mynd is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my said sonn in lawe Thomas Seddon the sum[m]e of Twelve pence in full of all childs partes legacies demands and filliall porcons whatsoever which hee may challenge require or demand to any parte or p[ar]cell of my p[er]sonall estate And whereas I did heretofore give and Bestowe unto and upon John Naylor my sonne in lawe to and for the marriage porcon of Margrett my daughter now his wife the full and iust sum[m]e of One hundred poundes therefore my will and mynd is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my said sonn in lawe John Naylor the sume of Twelve pence in full of all childs p[ar]te legacies filliall porcons and demands whatsoever as what hee may att any tyme hereafter have require or challenge to any p[ar]te of my p[er]sonall estate And whereas I have hertofore given and bestowed unto and upon Thomas Barrowe my sonne the summe of Fiftie pounds my will and mynd is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my said sonne Thomas Barrowe the summe of Fifty pounds more to bee paid unto him by my exors hereafter named in manner followeinge (vizt) that my said exors shall pay and allowe unto my said sonne Thomas Barrowe dureinge such tyme as hee shalbee able to maintaine himselfe yearely the full interest due for the said Fiftye pounds and if my said sonne Thomas Barrowe shall bee carefull and diligent in his callinge my will and mynd is that my said Exors shall pay unto my said sonne Thomas Barrowe the said sum[m]e of Fifty pounds or what p[ar]te thereof they shall thinke fitt for the advanceinge his trade or otherwise and if my said sonne shall mispend his share and not diligently follow a trade my will and mynd is that my said exors shall keepe and detaine the said Fiftye pounds in theire hands and shall pay and allowe unto my said sonne Thomas Barrowe the said sum[m]e of Fiftye pounds and the interest thereof in such manner and by such p… and sums of money as my said exors shall see cause and thinke fitt for his maintaneance in his old age. Item my will and mynd is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Barrowe the sum[m]e of One hundred pounds for her porcon to bee paid unto her by my exors hereafter named within twelve monethes nexte after my decease Item I doe hereby give and bequeath unto all my grandchildren which shalbee liveinge att my decease the sum[m]e of Five pounds a peece Item I doe hereby give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Whiteside wife of Gilbte Whiteside the sum[m]e of Twenty shillinges Item I doe hereby give and bequeath unto everyone I am unkle unto livinge att my decease twoe shillinges sixe pence a peece Item I doe hereby give and bequeath unto to everyone I am Godfather unto twelve pence a peece And for the rest residue and Remainder of all my said p[er]sonall estate my will and mynd is and I doe berby give and bequeath the same unto and amongst my children to bee paid unto them by my said exors herafter named or to such and as more of them as they shall see cause and thinke fitt and as theire severall and respective necessityes shall require and not otherwise. And lastly I doe hereby revocate and make void all former and other wills and Testamts And I hereby nominate ordaine consitute and appointe John Sutton of Norton in the County of Chester yeoman and Thomas Jameson of Ashtonn in the said County of Lanc yeoman Raphe Johnson of Burtonwood in the said Count of Lancr yeoman and my said sonne Henry Barrowe my true and lawfull exors of this my last will and testamt hopeinge they will see the same p[er]formed as my trust is in them.
