High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and the Royal Forests (1295-1297).

Knight of the Shire for Nottinghamshire in 1307 and 1310-11.

Foulds (p. cxl) notes that John's sons were not of age when he died. Walter first appeared as a juror in 1275.


Date of Death: between 10 May 1324 and 20 October 1326.

Place of Death: unknown.

Walter witnessed the confirmation of a grant on 10 May 1324 (CPR Edw II, vol. 4, part 2, p. 413) and an inquisition post mortem for him was held 20 October 1326 (CIPM vol. 6, no. 750). Foulds (p. cxli) gives "shortly before 22 October 1326).
