Relationships

Father: Iorwerth Fychan ab Iorwerth ap Gronwy Fyr Asgwrn.

This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Carwed 2) and given by Carr (p. 269). Gronwy Fyr Asgwrn is said to be the son of Tegerin ap Carwed. Lloyd (1:114) states that Carwed and Tegerin fought at Coed Eulo in July, 1157.

Mother: Gwerful ferch Madog ab Iarddur.

This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Carwed 2). The only evidence for it appears to be genealogical manuscripts from the late 1400s and later.

Spouse: Gwenllian ferch Gruffudd ab Iorwerth.

This relationship is shown by Bartrum (Carwed 2; Hwfa 1; Hwfa 5). There appears to be some discrepancy in sources as to whether Iorwerth was the son or grandson of Maredudd ap Matusalem ap Hwfa ap Cynddelw.

Children:

Hywel married Angharad ferch Ieuan Wyddel.
