Eleanor was aged 30 years and more in 9 Edward I, according to her sister Bertreya’s inquisition post mortem. (CIPM no. 387)


Date of Death: between 10 February 1301 and June 1306.

Place of Death: unknown.

The dates are given by Eyton (p. 24). Eleanor was buried at High Ercall, Shropshire.

1280. June 3. Westminster.

[Ratification] of the demise by [Ralph de Sanwyco, the king’s steward] to Eleanor, late the wife of Robert le Strange, of a fourth part of the manor of Whitchurch, co. Salop, late of William de Albo Monasterio, which fell to the pourparty of Bertrada, daughter and one of the heirs of the said William, and is in the king’s hand because she is of unsound mind; to hold at the king’s will at the rent of 17l. 12s. a year.
