A James Swift of Skelmersdale was buried in Ormskirk 6 August 1664 and also 28 December 1679. The latter left a will, which seems to be missing.

A James Swift was married to a Margaret Westhead in 1630 and to a Margaret Hulme in 1631. An Ellen Swift, wife of James Swift, was buried in 1640.
