Baldwin is dubious about the earlier part of the pedigree, which he calls “a string of unverifiable names.” Jaski gives the line as : Mothla, son of Ruaidrí, son of Cormac (died 828), king of the Dési, son of Domnall, son of Dúnad (died 759), king of the Dési, son of Eógan, son of Bregdulb, son of Cumuscach, son of Cobthach (died 632), king of the Dési.
