Henry’s will:
In the Name of God Amen the fifth day of March In the Year of our Lord God one Thousand Seaven Hundred and Twenty Two I Henry Wright of South Hawes in North Meals within the County of Lanc.tr fisherman being very weake & in firme of Body but of Sound and perfect memory praised be God/ Doe make and ordaine this my Last Will and Testament as followeth first I bequeath my soul into the Hands of almighty God by whose meritts I trust to be saved and my Body to the Earth to be Decently entered at the Discration of my Exec’trs herein after named after which done it is my will & mind that my debts and funerall Expences and Charges of the Probat of this my will be first paid & Deducted out of my whole personall Estate after which I Give and Dispose of the Remaing parte of my s.d personall Estate which God hath Blessed me in this Life in this following manner & form
but first & most principally whereas I stand Lawfully poss’ed of a smale Cottage and Tenent. in South Hawes afores.d which s’d Cottage I have assigne over unto Certaine Trustees and hath Given granted and Assigned over the s’d Cottage unto Richard Wright my son & heare with Severall provisose therein menc’oned now I doe hereby will & Give and devise of the Remaining part of my s’d Goods & personality of what is over and above paying my s’d Debts in this manner & form as following First it is my will & mind & I Doe Give & bequeath unto my Beloved wife Elizabeth Wright my Cow and if it happen there be any overplush of s’d Goods over payng my s’d Debts I do Give & bequeath the same amongst foure of my Chilldren that is to say John Thomas Ellin & Dorathy Equall amongst the s’d foure Chilldren Then it is my will and I doe Give to my Son John Two pounds I Give to William my Son Twenty shillings to Henry my son I Give Twenty Shillings I Give to Thomas my yongest Son theirty shillings I Give & bequeath unto Ellin my Daughter Three pounds for and Towards her Cloths that I Left I give & beqeath to Dorathy my Daughter Twenty Shillings Item I Give to Ann my daughter the wife of William Hoges Tenn shillings and I doe Give to her Three Chilldren Tenn Shillings Equally amongst them Item I Give to Margret my Daughter the wife of Peter Swift Tenn Shillings and I Give also to her Three Chilldren Tenn Shillings Equally amongst them Item I Give to Ellizabeth my wife Twenty Shillings ayear dureing her Naturall Life if She keeps her self unmarried but in Case she happen to marrie againe that then I will my son Richard to pay her five shillings & be aquitted But in case my s’d goods & personalitys will not Reach to pay my s’d Debts and these Legacies afore menc’oned to be Given as afores’d Then it is my will & mind that Richard my Son pay the said severall these Legacies out of That Twenty pounds that I have Charged him to pay my s’d Cottage that I have allredy assigned over to Richard my son at the tim of times that are therein menc’oned for paym.t of the s’d Twenty pound what is over paying the s’d Legacies Equally amongest all my s’d Chilldren or as many shall happen to be a Live at the s’d time or times of payment in the s’d assignm.t and Lastly I do nominate apoint & name Richard Wright & John Wright my sonns my Sole Exec’t’s of this my Last will & testam’t hoping they will see the same hereby Executed as my trust in them is makeing Void all other former wills or testam’ts by me hereto fore made In Wittnes whreeof I the s’d Henry Wright hath here unto sett on hand & seale the day & year above writtne

Commentary
Henry’s parentage:
Henry was married in North Meols in 1688 and had a family there. The only candidate baptism in North Meols was in 1665, father Richard Wright.
