This relationship is given by Todd. Rohese was Stephen’s first wife. That she was the mother of Gilbert is suggested by a letter written by Gilbert’s grandson John de Segrave in which he calls Hugh le Despenser the younger “trescher seignur et cosin”. (Douglas Richardson in a post to soc.genealogy.medieval, citing Pierre Chaplais War of Saint-Sardos, 1323-1325 (Camden Soc., 3rd series).
