Date of Birth: unknown.

Place of Birth: unknown.

Date of Death: 19 February 1686/7.

Place of Death: Dudley, St Thomas's.

Relationships

Father: John Bach.

John Bach of Dudley (St Thomas) names his son William in his will. Since he also has a son Richard, it seems likely that this is the right family.

Mother: uncertain (probably Joan Darby).

John was married two or three times. He married Isabel Sidway in 1616, too late for her to be William's mother. His wife before that was named Joan, and John mentioned a debt to his "father Darby" in his will. It is unclear whether this wife was Joan Darby, or whether there were two marriages previous to his marriage to Isabel Sidway.

Spouse: Mary Engre. Married 16 June 1624 in Dudley, Worcesteshire, England (St Thomas’s).

The parish register records the marriage. Perhaps it should read "Engley"?? Mary was buried in Dudley 3 April 1672 (described as the wife of William Bach).

Children:

(Complete source citations for facts about the children on this page are currently outside of the scope of this project. All baptisms were in Dudley St Thomas’s.)

Elizabeth Bach (baptized 25 July 1625).

William Bach (baptized 27 July 1628) married Elinor Colebarne 26 April 1659 in Rowley Regis.

Mary Bach (baptized July 1631 - buried 16 December 1631).

Richard Bach (baptized 10 November 1633 - died 18 September 1693) married Sarah Payton 18 June 1665 in Tipton, Staffordshire.

Commentary

There were three Baches having children in Dudley in the 1610s and 1620s: Thomas, John, and William. Also, an “Old Henry Bache” was buried in Dudley in 1629.
