Commentary

I am constructing this family mainly from property records. William’s daughter Dorothy sold land including “Potmans” in Catsfield in 1592. Her parents were Willian Aneston and Joan. James A Neston inherited Potmans in about 1519. He seems to have left his land, in his 1550 will, to his son John, who died in 1555 with his brother William as the administrator of his estate. The quitclaim by John's wife Margery makes clear that James's property passed from his son John to William.
