The date is given by Jaski (p. 120) and by Baldwin. The death is recorded in the Annals of Ulster s.a. 1059: “Gillacaeimhghin, son of Gillacomhgaill, royal heir of Leinster, and Maelmordha, grandson of Faelan, were slain by Murchadh, son of Diarmaid, by treachery and guile.”
