Commentary
Margaret’s parentage
Margaret was married in 1751 and had several children baptized between 1752 and 1769 (probably 1772). This implies Margaret was born between about 1720 and 1735. There are two candidate baptisms: in 1722 and 1729, both in Alloa. There were also two marriages of a Margaret Nuccoll in Alloa in the period, in 1744 and 1751. It is a reasonable assumption that the Margaret of the 1722 baptism married in 1744 and that the Margaret of the 1729 baptism married in 1751.
The parents in the 1729 baptism entry were recorded as Patrick Nuccoll and Elizabeth Nuccoll. (“Nuccoll” appears to be Elizabeth’s maiden name.)
