Crouch (ODNB) states: “Her father’s name is known only from a grant by her to the abbey of St Evroult in his memory. It is assumed that Guillaume was the son of Robert (II) de Grandmesnil (d.c. 1136), the last lord of Grandmesnil mentioned by Orderic Vitalis, but this is by no means certain.”
