Berto states that Landolfo’s parents are unknown. Cawley mentions that the Chronicon Comitum Capuae (MGH SS 3 p. 207) starts with "Landulph Maticu, filius Pald, gastald". The Chronicon was written in the 10th century.

(possible) Spouse: a daughter of Rofrit and his wife Dauferada.
