Events
Date of Birth: about 1770 to 1781.
Place of Birth: unknown.
The age given in the 1841 census implies a range of dates of 1776 to 1781. (Ages were rounded down to the nearest five years.) Ann's age at death is recorded in her burial record as 78.
Date of Burial: 23 July 1848.
Place of Burial: St Mary in Stafford, Staffordshire.
The burial is recorded in the parish register. At the time of her death, presumably Ann was residing with her son William, whose address in the 1851 census was 9 Market Square in the parish of St Mary Stafford.

Commentary
Parentage:
The 1841 census (taken 6 June), states that Ann is 60 years old and not born in Shropshire. Ages in this census were rounded down to the nearest multiple of 5, implying that Ann could have been born between 1775 and 1781. The informant was probably Ann’s son William Mayers.
Ann’s 23 July 1848 burial record states that she was aged 78, implying a birth date of about 1769 or 1770.
The witnesses for Ann’s 1795 wedding in Worcester were Richard Pardoe and Susannah Pardoe.
It could be that Ann was baptized in Ombersley, Worcestershire, in 1768, the daughter of Thomas Pardoe and Elizabeth Cole. However, I believe there is a stronger possibility. The Richard Pardoe and Susannah Pardoe that were witnesses at Ann’s marriage were both children of John Pardoe and Susannah Burrow of Ombersley. Richard was baptized in 1769 and Susannah in 1776. They had a sister Mary baptized in 1774 and a sister Sarah baptized in 1779. Richard was buried in 1828 in Claines, Worcestershire, which is where Ann’s husband Samuel Mayers was buried in 1829. I suspect that the Mary baptized in 1774 was in fact named Mary Ann, and identical with the Ann Pardoe of this page. This would be consistent with Ann’s daughter being named Mary Ann Pardoe Mayers.
However, I think more evidence is necessary to be confident in this identification.
