William Maw the younger

Events

Date of Birth: unknown.

Place of Birth: unknown.

Date of Death: uncertain.

Place of Death: uncertain.

There was a William Maw buried in Thornton Dale 25 November 1729, but it is not certain that that is the burial of this William.

Relationships

Father: William Maw.

This relationship is implied in the name “William Mawe the younger” given to Robert's father in his baptism record of 1661.

(presumed) Mother: Priscilla.

The most plausible construction of families from the Thornton Dale registers makes Priscilla the wife of the William Maw given here. She was buried 11 March 1663/4.

Spouse: Margaret Smales. Married 15 November 1660 in Thornton Dale, Yorkshire.

The marriage is recorded in the parish registers.

(probable) Children:

Robert Maw (baptized 15 September 1661 - probably buried 31 March 1747) married Mary Smith 1 December 1687 in Thornton Dale.

Evidence

In the 1671 enclosure of Farmanby, this is the land listed as William Maw's. (I am not sure it is the same William Maw as the William Maw of this page, but it probably is.)
