Relationships

Father: Leo.

This relationship is given by the PmbZO and by PBE I. Leo was Armenian, and was supposedly descended from the Arcasids. Settipani suggests that he may have been Byzantine Emperor Leo V.

Mother: unknown.

Pankalo’s mother was later said to be descended from Constantine the Great, but this is dismissed by modern scholars.

Spouse: a son of Maïktes.

This relationship is given by the PmbZO. A later genealogy makes Maïktes a descendant of the Arcasids, but this is not accepted by most modern scholars. He was of Armenian origin.
